What we pull

What StatCrow reads from PostHog.

StatCrow counts daily pageviews and unique visitors in your PostHog projects, plus installs and monthly active users for apps that use a PostHog mobile or desktop SDK. Read only. The crow looks, it never pecks.

  • Visitors
  • Pageviews
  • Downloads
  • Monthly active users

Freshness: Same day.

Self-hosted instances work in your dashboard but never show as verified.

  • Self-hosted PostHog connects with a key. StatCrow can't vouch for a server you run, so your public page shows those numbers with a Self-hosted source label instead of a verified stamp.
  • Days are counted in UTC, so totals can differ a little from PostHog charts set to another timezone. Today stays provisional until the day ends.
  • Visitors are unique persons per day. Pageviews are $pageview events.
  • Apps: installs are Application Installed events, and monthly active users are people who sent any event from a PostHog app SDK (iOS, macOS, Android, React Native, Flutter) in the last 30 days. Both only count installs that share analytics. With App Store Connect or Google Play on the same project, their downloads are used instead.
  • StatCrow runs one small query per project per sync and stays far below PostHog's query limits.
  • Remove StatCrow under Connected applications in your PostHog account settings, or delete the key, any time.

FAQ

PostHog questions.

Which scopes does the key need?

Two: project:read and query:read. Leave every other scope on No access.

Where do installs and active users come from?

Apps that send events through a PostHog mobile or desktop SDK (iOS, macOS, Android, React Native, Flutter). Installs are Application Installed events. Monthly active users are people who sent any app event in the last 30 days. Only installs that share analytics count, so if App Store Connect or Google Play is on the same project, its downloads are used instead.

Does self-hosted PostHog work?

Yes. Your public page shows those numbers with a Self-hosted source label instead of a verified stamp.

Can StatCrow change anything in my PostHog account?

StatCrow only sends read requests, and asks for read-only access wherever the provider supports it. Your credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown again after you save them.

How far back does PostHog history go?

Up to about two years, as far as PostHog allows. The Free plan keeps the last 90 days. Pro keeps everything.

How fresh are PostHog numbers?

Same day. The crow checks on a schedule and shows when each source last synced.

Do these numbers show as verified?

Hosted accounts do, as long as the last sync was healthy and recent. Self-hosted instances work privately but never get the verified stamp.
