What we pull

What StatCrow reads from Google Play.

StatCrow reads daily installs and monthly earnings from your Play Console reports bucket. Read-only.

  • Downloads
  • Revenue

Freshness: 3 to 7 days, earnings monthly by the 5th.

  • Install numbers arrive 3 to 7 days late, so the latest week shows as provisional.
  • Earnings arrive once a month, usually by the 5th, so Google Play revenue runs to the end of the last full month. It's after Google's fee and refunds, without tax, in your payout currency.
  • If the app is also on RevenueCat, revenue comes from RevenueCat instead, so nothing is counted twice. Installs still come from Google Play.
  • One service account covers every app in your Play developer account. Map each app to its project.
  • After you invite a service account, bucket access can take a while to start working. If the check fails right away, try again later.

Setup

Create a read-only Google Play key.

google-play.setup

  1. 1In Google Cloud, create a project or pick one you already use.
  2. 2Open Service accounts and create one. It needs no Google Cloud roles, so skip that step.
  3. 3Open the new service account, go to Keys, choose Add key, then Create new key. Pick JSON and download the file.
  4. 4In Play Console, open Users and permissions, choose Invite new users and paste the service account email. It ends in iam.gserviceaccount.com.
  5. 5Under Account permissions, turn on View app information and download bulk reports, and View financial data. Send the invite.
  6. 6In Play Console, open Download reports, then Statistics, and click Copy Cloud Storage URI. Paste it below. StatCrow keeps only the bucket ID, which starts with pubsite_prod_.
  7. 7Choose the JSON key file below, or paste its contents.

Permissions to grant

  • View app information and download bulk reports (read-only), for all apps
  • View financial data, orders, and cancellation survey responses, for all apps
  • Google scope: devstorage.read_only. StatCrow only reads your reports bucket.

FAQ

Google Play questions.

Why do installs show up late?

Google Play install numbers arrive 3 to 7 days late, so the latest week shows as provisional.

When does revenue update?

Earnings arrive once a month, usually by the 5th, so Google Play revenue runs to the end of the last full month.

The check failed right after I invited the account. Now what?

Bucket access can take a while to start working after the invite. Try again later.

Can StatCrow change anything in my Google Play account?

StatCrow only sends read requests, and asks for read-only access wherever the provider supports it. Your credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown again after you save them.

How far back does Google Play history go?

Up to about a year, as far as Google Play allows. The Free plan keeps the last 90 days. Pro keeps everything.

How fresh are Google Play numbers?

3 to 7 days, earnings monthly by the 5th. The crow checks on a schedule and shows when each source last synced.

Do these numbers show as verified?

Yes, as long as the connection is healthy and synced recently. Stale connections lose the verified stamp.
