What we pull
What StatCrow reads from App Store Connect.
StatCrow reads your daily sales and subscription reports with an App Store Connect API key. One key covers every app you own.
- Downloads
- Revenue
- Active subscriptions
- New customers
- App rating
Freshness: Next day, after about 8am PT.
- Individual keys don't work. Apple only lets Team keys read sales reports.
- Sales for a day land the next day, after about 8am PT. On connect StatCrow pulls the last 365 days, which is as far back as Apple keeps daily reports.
- Revenue is Apple's developer proceeds, after Apple's cut, in each storefront's proceeds currency.
- If the app is also on RevenueCat, subscribers and revenue come from RevenueCat instead, so nothing is counted twice.
- App rating is the average of your written reviews, so it can differ a little from the stars on the App Store.
- StatCrow encrypts your .p8 key when you save it and never shows it again.
Setup
Create a read-only App Store Connect key.
app-store-connect.setup
- 1Sign in to App Store Connect with an Admin account. Only Admins can create Team keys.
- 2Open Users and Access, select the Integrations tab, then select App Store Connect API in the left column.
- 3Select the Team Keys tab. Individual keys don't work: Apple only lets Team keys read sales reports.
- 4Click Generate API Key (or the add button) and name it StatCrow.
- 5Under Access, pick Sales. That's enough for downloads, revenue and subscriptions. Want your app rating too? Pick Admin instead, since reading reviews takes a bigger role.
- 6Click Generate, then Download API Key. Apple lets you download the .p8 file once, so keep it somewhere safe.
- 7Copy the Issuer ID shown above the list of keys.
- 8Open Payments and Financial Reports and copy your vendor number from the top left.
- 9Paste the issuer ID and vendor number below and choose the .p8 file. StatCrow reads the key ID from the file name.
Permissions to grant
- A Team key. Individual keys can't read sales reports.
- Sales role (Finance or Admin also work): daily sales reports for downloads and revenue, subscription reports for subscribers.
- Optional, for app rating: reading customer reviews takes the Customer Support, App Manager or Admin role, and only Admin also reads sales. StatCrow never writes anything, but those roles could, so Sales is the safer pick.
FAQ
App Store Connect questions.
Why a Team key?
Apple only lets Team keys read sales reports. Individual keys don't work.
Which role should the key have?
Sales is enough for downloads, revenue and subscriptions. App rating needs a bigger role, so Sales is the safer pick.
Is revenue before or after Apple's cut?
After. It's Apple's developer proceeds, in each storefront's proceeds currency.
Can StatCrow change anything in my App Store Connect account?
StatCrow only sends read requests, and asks for read-only access wherever the provider supports it. Your credentials are encrypted at rest and never shown again after you save them.
How far back does App Store Connect history go?
Up to about a year, as far as App Store Connect allows. The Free plan keeps the last 90 days. Pro keeps everything.
How fresh are App Store Connect numbers?
Next day, after about 8am PT. The crow checks on a schedule and shows when each source last synced.
Do these numbers show as verified?
Yes, as long as the connection is healthy and synced recently. Stale connections lose the verified stamp.
